It was very easy for me to train my dog to use this litter box. He took to it right away. Now we don't have to go out for walks late at night or in the rain and there is no over-shooting onto the floor because the sides prevent that from happening. Sparky and I still go for walks, but the Rasal Litter Box is so handy. It's easy to clean, too. I give him a little treat when he uses it, so now he likes stand by it and look at me. We are both much happier since we have discoved this box. It's worth every penny not to have to go out when the weather is dreadful.

This litter box is the best on the market! Since I have a male dog, the sides on the box really made a big difference, keeping the mess inside. The quality of the materials are superior and the box is so easy to clean! I have recommended this box to my friends who own dogs and they have already bought it, too. This box has been great to train my 3 month old puppy. It only took a short time to have her totally trained. I would recommend this box to anyone. Quick delivery too!

I purchased this prior to bringing home a 7 week old Yorkie 2 days ago and she already has a 50% success rate (granted, I have been putting her in there each time I see "suspicious" sniffing activities). Some of her misses can probably be attributed to the fact that I had put it across the room from her crate...and most of the puddles I've cleaned up are half-way to the litter box. I moved the box last night so that it is near where her mishaps have been (about 5' from her crate) and she's already successfully made it there herself to poo once and pee THREE times today! I give her a little teeny bit of peanut butter each time she goes in there by herself and takes care of business and now she just randomly runs in there and hangs out! LOL. While she's laying there on the "grass" waiting for peanut butter to magically appear, she has also started chewing on the grass (so that's my only complaint, which non-teething animals shouldn't have to worry about).
As a side note, I was at first hesitant to shell out money for this product since I recognized the green container as Table Top Gardener Portable Potting Tray, Green (which I had paid $13 for last year while on my bonsai obsession). On the other hand, I really didn't have the time nor desire to attempt a remake of this product at home so I went ahead and ordered it. As of right now, I'm super pleased with it! I really didn't expect her to be seriously potty-train-able for at least 2 more months (according to most books anyway)!

I'm waiting for my Rascal to arrive (it shipped today), but I already have to praise the AMAZING customer service I received when ordering my Rascal directly from the inventor's website.
She (Patricia Tierney) emailed me personally. In her email, she shared a few tricks to ease my puppy into using the Rascal and made herself available for phone consults in the event I have any questions or issues. It is really apparent she made this product with a lot of love and thought for her own pets.
As for the actual product - I am expecting that it will take persistence and care in the beginning to get our baby to consistently use the box. But that is expected with potty-training. The Rascal definitely stacked up as the best option from all the research I have done online. I love that I can put the grass in a pillow case and throw it in the washing machine for a good cleaning.
Update:
Our puppy is doing extremely well with her potty training and the Rascal. When we got her, the breeder had her going in a box already that used wood chips. So we simply started her immediately on the grass with a few wood chips on top. It is working extremely well. She instinctively peed in the box within 20 minutes of us introducing her to our home.
As far as consistency:
We are cross-training her to go in the box and outside. She always makes it to the box to pee - but one out of every ten poos happens outside of the box if she is too far away and it is "out of site out of mind." We are attributing this to the regular woes of potty training, not the box. It also may be a side effect of us having the potty patch inside of her play pen and she knows that she gets locked up in there.
The only downfalls are that in the beginning - she had an affinity for chewing on the grass. We fixed that by quickly distracting her out with more interesting toys to chew on. And, of course, when she used it for the right reasons - we praised like crazy and promptly gave her a treat. The other slight downfall that can be expected is that it will get a bit stinky from the urine between washes. I do have a super sensitive nose, though. I'm going to order some more grass so I can alternate.
This product has been a life-saver for us. I still highly highly recommend it.
