Product Description
The CatGenie Washable Granules will never need replacement but you will need to add additional granules when the level of the granules fall below the line on the bowl. On average you will need to add a few cups a month and a box of granules should last between 4-6 months depending on the number of cats that use the CatGenie. The plastic in the CatGenie Washable Granules has been specially formulated to completely biodegrade in your sewer or septic system in about 9 months or less.

5 out of 5 stars No more litter! Ever!   March 23, 2007

I love the CatGenie. The washable, plastic granules are one of the best things about the CatGenie. You'll never have to buy litter again! It doesn't make any dust! Zero! The granules are big enough to pick up off the floor. They're big enough to sit on top of a carpet or rug, and not get ground in. They look kind of like someone took a big piece of plastic spaghetti and chopped it up - it's kind of oval-shaped, so it won't roll around on the floor, and the sides are flat. They are much easier to clean up off any type of floor than regular cat litter. It's wonderful!

5 out of 5 stars I love my catgenie!   October 19, 2007

At first, the cats didn't know quite what to make of it. So, you have to be patient. Set up your catgenie in the bathroom or the laundry room, but keep their litterbox nearby. I let the old litterbox get a little "dirty" and my cat who is extremely tidy began using the catgenie. The old litterbox has gone away with the garbage truck. Now, the cats seem to enjoy watching the catgenie go through its cleaning cycle. Definitely worth the money as it has saved me time and my sanity.

5 out of 5 stars Essential for Cat Genie owners   November 2, 2008

The Cat Genie doesn't "use" the washable granuals. However, some loss does occur and replenishment is necessary. Only these granules are recommended for use in the Cat Genie.

These granules are easy to clean up, but they do scatter, just like regular litter. You run low on your granules because a lot of them are actually washed up under the rim of the catgenie, during the cleaning process. They are working to rectify this problem.
